Ponderosa is not a polished commercial place to stop by on your way from here to there. It is a place where you can schedule a week, a month, or as long as you like to join a community of friendly and sometimes vivacious people who take pride in living here and work to make it a fun place to be. Community activities are plentiful and participation is high. Sites are interspersed between the pines and placement appears random but everything is accounted for and there is a crew that takes care of all the details. The town of Pinetop-Lakeside provides excellent shopping and dining and a major hospital is only a few miles away. Overnight camping is available but scheduled campers are preferred and sites are not always available.
